Associate Members of The 36 Group receive Pro Bono Award

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts’ Legal Gala dinner is held annually in Dubai to recognise and celebrate the achievements of lawyers and law firms and in particular, those participating in the DIFC Courts’ Pro Bono Programme. On the evening of the Gala dinner, awards are presented to lawyers and law firms to recognise their contribution to the profession and society, including ‘Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year’, ‘Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year’ and ‘Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year’.

This year’s Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award was awarded to James Berry & Associates Legal Consultants in recognition of its commitment to access to justice through its participation in the Pro Bono Programme. The Pro Bono team at James Berry & Associates Legal Consultants comprises of Nichola Reece-Burton, Rhiannon Davies and Aqsa Khan Sadiq.

James Berry and Nichola Reece-Burton of James Berry & Associates Legal Consultants (Dubai) are both Associate Members of The 36 Group (36 Bedford Row, London), and we extend our congratulations to them and the rest of the team for their contribution to the Pro Bono Programme and for the recognition of that hard work that this award signifies.

Nichola Reece-Burton (Head of Litigation) attended the Legal Gala dinner on 20th October this year and commented:

“As usual, the Gala dinner was a well attended and very well organised event. It is always an evening that I look forward to, as it is an opportunity to meet other legal  professionals in a relaxed, social setting, rather than in our usual adversarial roles. It was also particularly enjoyable to attend this year, having been nominated for, and voted as, the ‘Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year 2016’. I am very proud to be part of the Pro Bono team in our firm and would encourage all other lawyers to participate in this very worthwhile Programme.’
